About

Belvidere Church of Christ was established in June of 1964 by Christians from North Park Church of Christ in nearby Machesney Park.

It was after a couple or so years of renting a place to meet  that the congregation built a facility for worship, classes and fellowship along the south side of town. This young congregation continued to grow. Our present building is located just a couple blocks down the street from the original site. It is here that on every Sunday we gather together to observe the Lord’s Supper, remembering how we are saved through the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus our Lord.

It is also in our weekly classes and worship services that there is the study of the Bible, corporate prayer, the preaching of the Gospel, and congregational singing.

Throughout the years, many individuals, families and visitors have enjoyed warm welcomes, friendly and encouraging fellowship, biblical teaching, celebration of the Gospel, and sweet memories from the gatherings of this community of Christian Faith.

It is our intention to be a congregation that encourages and equips each other in our walk as followers of the risen Jesus. We hope to be a source of encouragement to other believers and fellowships of faith as well–both within and beyond our immediate brand and brotherhood.

We encourage you to continue browsing through our site where you will learn a little more about us, what we believe, our heritage, events and activities which we both offer and promote as a church, and some informative and hopefully helpful on-line resources as well.
